Calling all open-wheel racing fans! The British Automobile Racing Club - Ontario Centre (BARC-OC) is gearing up for one of the most exciting weekends on the CASC-OR calendar: the 2026 Open Wheel Invitational.
From July 24th through July 26th, 2026, the world-renowned Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) Grand Prix Track will be the stage for a pure celebration of open-wheel machinery. Whether you're a driver looking for maximum track time or a fan wanting to see a diverse grid of cars, this is the weekend you can't miss.
Event Overview
This weekend is dedicated entirely to open-wheel racing, featuring six distinct run groups that bring together the best of both modern and vintage competition.
  • Dates: July 24 (Optional Test Day), July 25 – 26 (Race Weekend).
  • Location: Canadian Tire Motorsport Park - GP Track.
  • Organized by: British Automobile Racing Club - Ontario Centre (BARC-OC).
  • Major Sponsors: Presented by Burlington's Best GOOD Cars Only and Nickel Brook Brewing Co..
Weekend Schedule & Format
The event is designed to maximize track time for all competitors, offering approximately 115 minutes of scheduled action over the Saturday and Sunday.
  • Friday, July 24: Optional Test Day at CTMP, offering 2.5 hours of track time to get dialed in. Scrutineering also begins this afternoon at 3:00 PM.
  • Saturday & Sunday (July 25-26): Each run group will have:
    • One 20-minute Practice session.
    • One 20-minute Qualifying session.
    • Three 25-minute races.
  • Saturday Evening: Don't miss the Monoposto Style Drivers Reception and Paddock Crawl for all drivers and crew after the racing concludes.
Eligible Classes
We are expecting a packed paddock with a wide variety of cars:
  • Toyo Tire F1600.
  • Formula 1200 / Challenge Cup / Formula Vee.
  • Formula Ford (Historic, Club, and Modern).
  • Formula Libre (Faster cars like F4, Formula Atlantic, and Indy Lights).
  • Formula 70 & Formula 90 (Vintage grids for cars built between 1973 and 2005).
Registration Information
Drivers, make sure to get your entries in early to avoid the late fee!
  • Registration Site: Head over to MotorsportReg to sign up.
  • Early Bird Deadline: Entries must be received by July 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM to avoid a $120 late fee.
  • Waivers: All participants and crew must complete their electronic waivers via Speedwaiver.
